I've had such a kiss, I've wished it away a thousand times yet it wouldn't go. It held on stubbornly and with each passing day I could only resent it more and more, not for just for holding me tightly in its grip, but for it keeping me trapped by the memory of the man who gave it to me…holding me hostage to a time that only resided in my past when there was no future.
This song is different, I didn't write it from “my” perspective, I've written it from perspective of THAT ONE KISS…it tells the story of how it lingered, how over time it was no longer wanted as its bliss became a venom, and what it might say if it was indeed returned to the man I shared it with.
I'll be honest, I hope with all my heart that he hears this song, and that he'll realize with the writing of it I'm reclaiming my freedom from it, from him. I wiped it away, blew it from my fingertips, towards the deep green sea.
